Genre: Reality TV

The Amazing race finally came to Uganda, the pearl of Africa! The teams went to the Uganda National Mosque (The Gadhafi Mosque) and had to don customary clothing. After finding their clue, teams had to climb to the top of the mosque’s minaret counting the marked-steps along the way. If they came up with the correct number (272), they would receive their next clue directing them to the Road Block at Owino Market. Owino Market is the size of 20 football fields, and as one of the contestants pointed out that there are more people in the market than in the town where she’s from. One member of each team had to make a “Rolex” which is a play on the term “rolled eggs,” as another contestant eventually figured out.

Finally, the teams head to the detour: salty roll vs move the pole. In Move the Pole they had to transport enough firewood by bike to a not-too-faraway location and then stack it up in a particular style to reach a certain height. In the SALTY ROLL, teams had to roll salty fish.
Leg 6 marked season 31’s very first HEAD-TO-HEAD challenge.
This Head-to-Head does require speed as one member of each team races around to de-jumble four stacks of multi-colored drums into four stacks of color-sorted drums while only keeping one drum in motion at a time.
In 2019, The Amazing Race “Who Wants A Rolex?” earned 2 nominations in the EMMYS for Outstanding Directing for a reality program and Outstanding Picture editing for a structured reality or competition program.

In 2020 The Amazing Race (Season 31) earned a nomination for Outstanding Producer of Game and Competition Television
